Much of the last 2 weeks has been me figuring out what I am bringing with, narrowing that down even more, making a platform to create more space in my car, and helping the friends I was staying with.

Finally today I was ready to head off (after dropping a few more things in the storage units!).

The plan has me driving across NY state, seeing some sights and then heading to Ohio to see my only surviving aunt.
So I made it to Cooperstown NY today. Felt like a long drive but beautiful countryside. Decided to head to the Fenimore art museum first because it closed at 4. Wonderful Native art gallery and some American artist gems.

Unfortunately they are setting up a big landscape painting exhibit that won’t open till Monday. Bummer. It looks great.
Then headed to the campground and set up the tent Ground is really hard so hard to put in stakes. Glad I brought the mallet!

Now having dinner at a hotel because it has a lake view. Needed to chill out after the first big day.

Now to figure out how to avoid the bugs at the campground!
