Recent research on following a Paleo Autoimmune Protocol has shown it is effective in reducing symptoms from IBD. The authors of the study wrote:
“Clinical remission was achieved by week 6 by 11/15 (73%) of study participants, and all 11 maintained clinical remission during the maintenance phase of the study.”

Chris Kresser is an acupuncturist and functional medicine practitioner.  Here is his blog post on the study and explaining a bit about the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol:

Food is the substance we use to create our bodies anew every day.  Without food you waste away and die, so no surprise that what we eat affects how our bodies exist in the world.  Healing our gut and changing our eating patterns can be tough, but the results can make a huge difference in our lives.
